Uyghur Rights Advocacy Project Releases 2025 Annual Report
Ottawa, ON - Today URAP releases its 2025 Annual Report, documenting a year of intensive research, advocacy, and protection efforts amid an increasingly complex global landscape. The report provides a comprehensive overview of URAP’s work throughout 2025, including major research findings, policy engagement initiatives, direct support provided to affected individuals, and advocacy outcomes aimed at addressing systemic persecution by the People’s Republic of China (PRC). It also examines implementation challenges and reflects on lessons learned while outlining strategic priorities for 2026.
Throughout 2025, URAP strengthened its evidence-based research to support accountability mechanisms, engaged policymakers and international partners, and amplified the voices of Uyghurs directly impacted by repression. Despite growing geopolitical constraints, the organization advanced targeted advocacy efforts to safeguard human rights and counter transnational repression.
URAP’s work throughout 2025 was made possible by the steadfast support of its advisors, partners, donors, advocates, and community members. We extend our sincere thanks to all those who stood with us, through collaboration, funding, and public engagement, to advance accountability, protect affected individuals, and ensure that the voices of Uyghurs continue to be heard on the global stage.
