URAP Supports Legal Advisor Sarah Teich Amidst Russian Sanctions

September 23, 2022

Yesterday, URAP’s Legal Advisor Sarah Teich was featured in a newly published list of 87 Canadians banned from entering Russia.

URAP is issuing this statement in support of Teich, a staunch supporter of universal justice and human rights, and a believer in human freedom, equality and dignity.

In addition to her work reporting on human rights abuses in Russia, she has bravely taken on their allies, including China, to defend Uyghurs that continue to face genocide at the hands of the Chinese government.

The threat these regimes perceive in her work is proof that it is meaningful and effective, and Teich’s virtue and thirst for justice will ultimately prevail over despotism. Our community is eternally grateful for her service, expertise, and compassion, and we will continue to stand with her and hold tyranny to account.
