happy holidays from Uyghur Rights Advocacy Project

Ottawa, ON - As the year draws to a close and communities around the world enter the holiday season, we want to take a moment to extend our warmest wishes to you and your loved ones.

This past year has been marked by both profound challenges and meaningful progress. While the Uyghur community continues to endure genocide and widespread transnational repression, there have also been important developments that offer hope. These include strengthened international advocacy and policy engagement, as well as continued momentum behind critical initiatives such as the M-62 Uyghur Resettlement Program.

These advances would not be possible without the sustained commitment of advocates, partners, researchers, policymakers, and community members worldwide. These efforts have played a vital role in ensuring that Uyghur voices are amplified rather than silenced, and that the pursuit of accountability, refugee protection, and human rights remains at the forefront of global attention.

At a time when inaction and indifference continue to pose serious risks, collective advocacy has made a measurable impact. As we enter a season of reflection and generosity, we express our deep gratitude to the community that supports and strengthens this work.

We look ahead to the coming year with renewed determination, guided by solidarity, justice, and the conviction that sustained action can lead to meaningful change.

Happy Holidays!
