Mission of Uyghur Rights Advocacy Project and its Project Objective
Uyghur Rights Advocacy Project has commenced its advocacy work on May 1, 2020, with the grant provided by the National Endowment Fund for Democracy.
Uyghur Rights Advocacy Project is carrying out its objectives, according to its program objectives following two main categories:
To document CCP policies targeting Uyghurs in China and globally;
To bolster human rights advocacy by developing and sharing resources with Uyghur organizations and activists.
Primary objectives of URAP through documentation and Advocacy Campaign in Canada is to increase the political and public awareness on the unfolding Uyghur genocide committed by China and push for political actions by the government of Canada to address the issue domestically and globally.
Uyghur Rights Advocacy Project will work with multi-faith Canadian and international NGOs, members of academia, think tank organizations in Canada to create strong public pressure on Canadian government and political institutions to implement previously recommended policy actions by the International Human Rights Subcommittee on Oct, 21, 2020.
Uyghur Rights Advocacy Project aims to be the most credible, reliable and effective Uyghur Organizations that represents the strongest Uyghur voice in Canada.
The dire situation of Uyghurs in East Turkistan and abroad and the urgency of providing timely response to their needs has been one of the crucial and top challenges for Uyghur organizations and international community.
Consistent advocacy works in Canada and in other right-minded countries has become crucial for the creation of greater awareness on Uyghurs’ plight in the global level in order to combat against strong China’s assertiveness through strong documentation.
