URAP NEWSLETTER – JUNE  2023

 In June URAP continued its advocacy and awareness-raising campaigns in Ottawa, some but not all of our activities summarized as – with Bloc Quebecois initiation URAP organized Coalition members centered on China to come Ottawa and participate in the joint Press-Conference on June 8. In it the Coalition members demanded the resignation of the “Special Rapporteur” David Johnston from his position and called for the launch of the Public Inquiry on China’s interference in Canada.

URAP team continued its preparatory work for the upcoming Alma Uyghur Legal Summit to be held in July 3-6

·       URAP team trained young Uyghur-Canadian volunteers to provide support services to the potential applicants under the M62 campaign initiative.

 URAP continued its cooperation with the numerous stake-holders to make the M62 project feasible and swift

URAP continued its documentary filming project

URAP continued working on strengthening the Alliance of Genocide Victim Communities (Its website with its bilingual French and English contents prepared, the Coalition registry to be finalized in the summer of 2023)

URAP is actively engaged in implementing the M62 (10 thousand refugees’ resettlement into Canada)

URAP is cooperating with various US-based NGOs on strengthening the Uyghur Forced Labor products importation ban to Canada under the CUSMA agreements (CAN-US-MEX free trade agreement)

URAP is actively engaged in the ongoing consultations with the GOC (Government of Canada) in the rapid adaptation of the FIRA (Foreign Influence Registry Act) Bill, we cooperate with multiple NGOs across Canada.

URAP is preparing for upcoming Uyghur Legal Summit to be held in between July 3-6, 2023 in Alma, Quebec.

 URAP is non-profit organization advocating on behalf of Uyghur and other Turkic-speaking people of East Turkistan currently facing the ongoing Genocide. We need broad support of public just like you to continue our advocacy and awareness-raising efforts in Canada and globally.
